Largely built from imagination, guided by feelings of nostalgia and fading memory. A viewer once pointed me to a passage in Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, where Anna speaks of a blue haze, like mist on the mountains, that covers everything in that blissful time when childhood is just ending. It captures this painting perfectly. Prints are sold unframed.
