About
I am an Amsterdam-based figurative artist (b. 1997) working in oil, charcoal and graphite. My approach has been shaped by years of dedicated, close observation and practice.
My work combines classical techniques with a contemporary approach to colour and experimentation. Originality and creative freedom are at the core of my practice. Each piece emerges instinctively and is often a natural extension of the way I see and process the world.
Right now I am drawn primarily to paintings that explore fading memory, nostalgia and a certain bittersweet tenderness. I am after atmosphere more than literal depiction. That said, what the viewer brings to the work matters as much to me as what I put in. I want people to feel free to see and experience it their way.
Because of the time and attention each piece requires, my practice remains intentionally limited. I often think of my process as the slow cooking of ideas. It is something that brings me great joy in a world that seems increasingly driven by instant reward.
